Chromosomes of the squirrelFunambulus palmarum bellaricus Wroughton

Summary The chromosome complement ofFunambulus palmarum bellaricus Wroughton (Mammalia-Rodentia-Sciuridae) has been studied for the first time, and the diploid number established to be 54, in contrast to the subspeciesF. p. palmarum which has 2n=46 chromosomes. The known karyotypes within the genusFunambulus are compared. We thank Prof. G. T.
