| Abstract: | Microsoft's Component Object Model is one of the most used middleware techniques on the market today. The use of Java as a programming language, with its platform independence, is growing at the same time. Unfortunately, standard Java has no support for COM. This has resulted in a large number of products being sold on the market today, which are supposed to work as Java/COM bridges. A method for calling COM object in Java and using Java to create COM object service, and package for realizing the class of Java and COM mutual correspondence, interface are described. Several typical software of the Java/COM bridges is given: J-Integra, Bridge2Java. The comparison of advantages and disadvantages of these methods are thoroughly discussed. |
