| Abstract: | Horse platelets release an unidentified smooth muscle contracting substance after lysis by antiserum and complement. Since the active factor (thrombocytolysin) does not produce tachyphylactic response of the guinea-pig ileum it seems that it is not related to anaphylatoxins. |
