Abstract:The free vibration of cylindrical shells for conveying incompressible fluid is dealt with and the natural frequencies with predominant flexural vibration is calculated. The longitudinal and circumferential inertia is neglected. The effects of velocity and static pressure on the natural frequencies have been considered. Novozhilov/s thin shell theory is used to obtain the equations of motion The fluid is assumed to be an ideal one and the solution for displacement is expressed as:u, v and w will have to satisfy specific boundary conditions.The numerical method has been adopted and the results are found in good agreement with those given in existing literature.
