摘    要:讨论了采用增益开关技术在分布反馈半导体激光器上产生超短光脉冲的特性。理论分析表明,光脉冲特仅与峰值反转率r有关,峰值功率随r升高而升高,脉宽随r升高而降低。

Abstract:Characteristics of ultrashort optical pulses generated by gain-switching of distributed feedback laser diode (DFB-LD) are studied theoretically. It is shown that the characteristics are closely related to the peak incersion rate r. Peak power inereases with increasing r while pulse width decreases with r. Numerical simulations indicate the existence of an optimum bias point where peak power is the highest and pulse width is the most narrow. Increasing modulation power is helpful for compression pulse width. The highest peak power is achieved when modulation frequency is close to resonant frequency. Period doubling would appear if modulation frequency is increased to a certain point.
