| Abstract: | There are at least 40 species of Anoectochilus in the world, and 20 species and 2 variants in China. Of all A. roxburghii (Wall.) Lindl. and A. formosanus Hayata are the most important. They are both a kind of valuable ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine and treasures of indoor ornamental plants. This paper deals with the distribution, biological properties, morphological charateristics, ornamental value and medicine importance of Anoectochilus spp., as well as the survery of research and development of Anoetochilus. |
