The Influence of Christianity on the writhing of American Novels in the Nineteenth Century

As two forms of culture,Christianity and novels are perfectly harmonious and well-blended in creating fictions by American novelists in the 19th century.Writers living in the times of turbulence used them to seek the way to solve problems,to look for the encouragement of living and probe into the life and its eternal value.The essay mainly discusses the impact Christianity exercises upon novels' writing during this period.Writers are classified in three groups according to their different attitudes towards the religion.Some are pious and devout;some are contradictory and comprising while others are antagonistic and surpassing.In selecting representative individuals,similarities are induced and explored existing in their coinciding expressions.
