| Abstract: | The properties of the Fourier transform and the continuous wavelet transform in the time frequency analysis are compared in this paper by studying several special signals. Several problems encountered in the applications of these methods like resolution and cross terms are pointed out. The time varying spectrum of the heart sound signal calculated with these two methods is studied according to the results obtained in the analysis. |
