| Abstract: | This paper traces the history of the discovery and the dating of the Zhoukoudlan cave site and discusses the impact ofthe new temporal framework on the understanding of middle Pleistocene Home eredus hominids.The results of various different dating methods for Zhoukoudian Locality 1 are rather consistent and it can be relatedwith deep-sea cores and loess stratigraphic sequence of north China.With new data in hand,we should renew ourknowledge of the behavioral adaptation of Zhoukoutian Home erectus. |
