| 摘 要： | 穆尔太太是福斯特《印度之行》中最具有同情心的人物，在经历了马拉巴山洞之后，她与儿子伦尼的最后一次谈话时的独自流露出她的精神困惑。她提出一系列的质疑都被回声反射回来而没有作答，因此她对自身的观念的质疑、对基督教思想意识的质疑、对爱是否存在的质疑都在独自中淋漓尽致地体现出来。穆尔太太的精神最后在回声的影响下崩溃，并最终走向死亡。

| Abstract: | Mrs.Moor is the most sympathetic character in Forster's fiction A Passage to India.She made a monologue when she last conversed with her son Ronny after her visit to Maraba Cave,in which she reveals her spiritual muddle.After all the questions she raised were echoed back without any answer,she questioned about her own outlook,the Christian ideology and the existence of true love.In the end,Mrs.Moor fell into a spiritual death and died on the sea on the way back to England. |
