A Study on the Harmonic Arrangements of Music Selection from Chopin's Prelude

It is Chopin who, for the first time in the development of Prelude, breaks away Prelude from its function as transition and its subsidiary status, leading to the birth of the independent small piano pieces. Besides, Chopin also has Prelude endued with the distinctive artistic images and the unique artistic personality. In this paper, the writer makes some analysis and researches over the harmonic arrangements in the one-part music by combining with the one-part form, tonality and the climax arrangement etc, in an attempt to sum up its general rules in terms of the harmonic arrangement a,o~d the overall design in structure used in Chopin＇sPrelude.
