| Abstract: | He Chentian (370--447AD) was an important astronomer in the Southern Dynasty. Many papers reviewing his achievements have been published, but most of them devote to discuss his contribution to astronomy, especially to his Yuanjia calendar (445AD) and his Tiaorifa (The method for adjusting the denominator of the length of an tropical year's days). Based on the Collection of He Chentian's Paper, in the Present paper the author first overlooks his achievement in science and than deals with his philosophical thought. his approach of research. |
