| Abstract: | The behaviour of metal carboxylate nucleating additives in the melt of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) was observed by hot-stage polarized light micro-scopy. The formation of PET metal ion salt was indicated by the study of Fouriortransfer infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The aggregation of this polymer metalion salt was studied by means of transmission electron microscopy and FTIR. Themechanizm of chemical nucleation of PET were preliminary explained. |
