乒乓球赛制中的数学问题

国际乒联于2001年10月1日把国际乒乓球赛制由原来的21分制改为11分制。运用概率论方面的知识并应用MATLAB数学软件给出在新赛制和旧赛制下运动员取胜一局的概率,并对11分制的5局3胜制和21分制的3局2胜制,11分制的7局4胜制和21分制的5局3胜制单打取胜的概率及其差别作了定量的比较分析.进而验证了11分制的变革与实施增加了比赛结果的随机性,使优秀队员取胜的把握减少,从而提高了比赛的观赏性,达到了发展乒乓球运动项目的目的。

Mathematical Problems in Table Tennis

On October lst,2001 ,the International Table Tennis Federation adopted the 11-point game rules instead of the old 21-point game rules for international play. Using the knowledge of probability theory and MATLAB mathe- matical Software, the probability of winning the match between the new and old game rules has given. Quantitative and comparative analysis for the probability and difference amony the ll-point rule by the best of fire games ,the 21- point rule is the best of three games, the 11-point rule is the best of seven games and 21-point rule is the best of fire games （ for table tennis singles）. This proves that the reform and performance of the game rules in Table tennis add up uncertainty, reduce the chances of winning for excellent athletes, make the match more appreciated and develop the table tennis greatly.
