摘    要:阅读是读者与作者之间以语言符号为媒介进行的思想交流,是一种有目的的、积极的,并受到跨文化交际能力影响的心理认知过程。影响英语阅读理解的因素包括语言因素和非语言因素。其中,语言因素指语言(词汇、语法、篇章)知识;非语言因素包括语言技能、阅读技巧和习惯以及文化背景知识等。而文化背景知识是阅读者最难跨越的一个障碍。要达到理想的阅读理解效果,就应通过广泛阅读来积累和丰富涉及不同文化背景的相关知识。

Abstract:Reading is communication between author and reader with the help of written text.It is also an active and intentional psychological cognitive process which is influenced by readers’ competence of intercultural communication.Factors which have impact on reading consist of linguistic and non-linguistic ones.The former includes linguistic knowledge and the latter consist of linguistic competence,reading skills,reading habits and cultural background knowledge among which culture proves to be the most difficult.Thus,in order to achieve the ultimate aim of reading and comprehending well,we must try to cultivate our cultural awareness and improve our intercultural communicative competence by means of extensive reading.
