| 摘 要： | 英语作为一种源远流长的语言，拥有许多谚语、俗语和成语典故。其中不少的成语典故中嵌有人名，这种典故往往和具体的历史事件、学典故或神话传说有关。通过探讨英语成语典故中人名的来源，有助于我们进一步了解英美化，扫清阅读中的一些障碍，提高阅读和翻译能力。

| Abstract: | English, as a language with a long history, contains many common sayings, proverbs and idioms . And the idioms with human names are usually concerned with historical events, cultural allusions and the myths . Coming across them, readers without a certain background knowledge will find it difficult to understand . To explore the source of the human names in the idioms will be a good way to enrich our English cultural background knowledge . |
