| Abstract: | In 1911 Qing government promulgated the Draft Civil Law of Great Qing which was the first Civil Code in Chinese history and was the prologue of the modernization of Chinese civil code. This paper mainly discusses the background of the reform of the Civil Code in late Qing Dynasty, the main content of the Draft Civil Law of Great Qing, and the historical significance and limitations. |
