可用于被动式交通调查的GPS接收仪器评估

交通出行调查是交通规划和模拟不可或缺的数据收集手段，GPS能提高交通信息获取的效率和精度，因此利用GPS交通调查技术辅助或替代传统交通调查成为发展和应用的重要趋势。本文评述了这种趋势的必要性，总结了国外GPS技术在交通调查中运用的经验和局限，结合对国内商业化GPS仪器以及国外交通调查专用GPS仪器的调研和评比，为如何选择GPS仪器进行交通调查提出一些评估指标和建议。

An Evaluation of GPS Devices for Passive GPS-based Travel Surveys

Transportation planning and modeling require accurate travel data that can only be obtained through travel surveys. The use of GPS in travel surveys in many countries recently indicated a promising trend of replacing questionnaires for higher survey efficiency and data accu-racy. This paper attempts to establish a set of principles to guide the potential users in selecting suitable GPS for travel surveys. It first discus-ses the importance and significance of using GPS technology to augment and even replace the traditional questionnaire-based travel survey. Then some general criteria for GPS selection are proposed on the basis of previous experiences and research from the literature as well as our empirical tests of selected GPS instrument. On the other hand, commercial GPS devices of various types were surveyed and their specifications summarized to provide a glimpse of suitability of off-the-shelf GPS products for travel surveys. In the end,three GPS devices specifically de-signed for travel surveys were introduced ,and their suitability evaluated.
