| Abstract: | This paper introduces a new epicyclic variable gear unit in vertical lathe, which includes its operating principle, structure feature, technical characteristics, design and calculation as well as results tested with model machine. The gear unit installed by direct-current motor with wide speed can mcet the need for infinintely variable speeds of main drive in vertical lathe. |
