Abstract:Polar code is a new type of channel coding method with low decoding complexity. The 3GPP organization has determined to use polar code as channel coding schemes for enhanced mobile broadband scenarios in 5G. Decoding for polar code has become one of the highly anticipated research hotspots in the coding field. Successive cancellation list flip(SCLF) decoder for polar code has been proposed to improve the decoding performance of SCL decoder with the help of additional SCL decoding attempts with unreliable bits being flipped. The SCLF decoder sets a large value of reserved paths in order to improve the decoding performance, which results in a high decoding complexity. In this paper, AD-SCLF decoder is proposed by adaptively selecting the value of reserved paths. The decoder begins with a smaller value of reserved path (L=1) and iteratively increases until at least one survival path can pass CRC detector. The complexity can be reduced without decoding performance changed. Simulation results show that for additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channel and Rayleigh channel, the complexity of AD-SCLF decoder is significantly reduced at medium and high SNR, compared with the traditional SCLF decoder.
