认知与忠实——汉、英上下位词翻译的认知视角

摘    要:在翻译实践中,为了避免同一词汇的重复,译者往往会选择同义词来玉成其事。其中,上下位词的替代是英汉互译中的最为实用的一种译巧。以认知语言学中范畴理论和转喻理论等为理论框架,审视汉、英上下位词的构词方式,并分析英汉互译中上下位词的替代认知机制。本研究对我国的汉/英翻译实践与外语教学均有一定的启示作用。

Abstract:The frequent use of synonyms in C-E/E-C translation is intended to avert mechanical repetition,and what is favored are the super-ordinates or the sub-ordinates in the form of hyponym as synonyms in translation.Based on the Prototype Theory and the Metonymy Theory,the co-authors of this paper will make an analysis of the rules of hyponym-formation and the alternating mechanism in the perspective of Cognitive Linguistics.It is assumed that the present research will be of some help to the translation studies and the English teaching in China.
