《西太平洋航海者》两个汉译本的一些相似误译

马林诺夫斯基的名作《西太平洋的航海者》在民族学和人类学历史上具有非常重要的地位。该书的两个汉译本基本正确地传达了原著的思想,对于我们认识库拉贸易这一风俗、认识马氏所倡导并在国际民族学和人类学界得到广泛认同的参与观察方法,都有积极作用。但是,两个译本中共同存在的一些相似误译在一定程度上妨碍了对原著的准确理解。

On the Parallel Mistranslations in Two Chinese Versions of an Ethnological Masterpiece

Argonauts Of The Western Pacific by Bronislaw Malinowski holds a very important position in the history of ethnology and anthropology.Its two Chinese versions convey the general ideas of the original work,and play positive role in our realizing Kula and the method of participant observation which was proposed by Malinowski and is accepted by ethnological and anthropological scholars all over the world.Some similar mistranslations obtaining in these two Chinese versions,however,make it impossible to understand correctly the original work.The occurrence of similar mistranslations indicates some common reasons of academic mistranslation,which must be brought up and analyzed.
