| Abstract: | It has been found that ferric chloride was superior to H2SO4 when used as catalyst for esterification of ethyl alcohol with sebacic acid. The optimum reaction conditions in synthesis of diethyl sebacate catalyzed with ferric chloride were determined, with the yield at 93.59%. |
