广东省潮汕地区鸟类的研究历史及其名录

综合分析前人的研究结果 ,制定了一个较为系统的潮汕地区鸟类历史名录 .收入名录的鸟类共有 2 84种 ,是通过仔细阅读前人的每项鸟类记录 ,查阅和翻译潮汕和闽南口音的英文地名 ,或根据文献提供的调查者住所和鸟类采集地的步行距离 ,进一步同现代文献比较而最终确定的 .并发现其中至少包括红脚鲣鸟、褐鲣鸟、白燕鸥、燕鹱、黄嘴白鹭等鸟是不可能在潮汕地区有分布或繁殖记录的 .

A Historical Overview of the Avifauna in the Chaozhou-ShantouRegion,Eastern Guangdong Province

Our current efforts to document ornithology of the Chaozhou_Shantou Region call for historical perspective and context.References were scattered and there was no suitable overview or species list.This paper is an attempt to provide that and thus the first comprehensive documentation of the ornithology of the region in modern times. We review more than 20 disparate published records from 1858 to 1999,compare them with those of the nearby Hong Kong region,and expose for investigation various discrepancies and uncertainties.In all we have synthesized 284 bird species with Chinese, English,and scientific names,and citations to all published sources.Most of the recent information since the 1980s was collected for tourism;it often lacks scientific names,record dates,specific localities, and was often not peer_reviewed.It is critical to view these publications with caution and confirm or reject their records.Documentation for the following species is unsatisfactory and they are unlikely to occur or breed in the region:Red_footed Booby,Brown Booby White Tern,Bulwer's Petrel,and Swinhoe's Egret.
