| Abstract: | Via a study of stories in The Joy Luck Club,this essay discusses what makes Tan so successful in her novel is the stories.From a particular angle,the novel presents readers the whole process from the cultural conflicts between Chinese immigrant mothers and American-born daughters to a nmtual understanding between two genera- tions.Chinese culture and tradition combine the content and structure of the novel perfectly,which is the key to its success. |
