Network Technology in English Teaching and Learning

In the 21st century,computers become more and more popular.Multimedia and network technology has been affecting people from many aspects,such as life styles,thought patterns and ways of obtaining education with an amusing speed.The liberalization,mutualization and globalization of teaching resources have a great impact upon English language teaching and learning.New technologies make English teaching environment,content,approach,process and the design of assignments more flexible and open.This paper tries to present how multimedia and network technology helps improve English language teaching and learning from the following aspects: The related theories of English teaching and learning;The models,advantages and disadvantages of using new technologies;The required qualities for us English teachers in the information age.
