Abstract:With the KBW self-consistent model and the single crystal hardening law, previously proposed by Sun and Hwang, the cyclic stress-strain response of polycrystalline copper over both high and low-cycle fatigue ranges has been obtained. The predictions are in quantitative agreement with the corresponding experiments. In addition, the theoretical modelling confirms that the cyclic stress-strain curve of polycrystalline copper has no plateau.
