Abstract:It was previously shown that cartilage angiogenesis inhibitory factor (CAIF) has an inhibitory effect on angiogenesis. The inhibitory effect of CAIF on the growth of bovine artery endothelial cells was studied using cytotoxity assay. The effect of CAIF on the skeleton of endothelial cells and Hela cells was investigated by whole cell scanning electron microscopy. The effect of CAIF on endothelial cell migration and the tumor growth were quantified by ordinary methods. The results showed that CAIF exerted inhibitory effects on the growth and migration of endothelial cells, and made the skeleton of endothelial cells wrinkled, but had no significant effect on that of Hela cells. CAIF also inhibited the tumor growth implanted on mice. These results suggest that CAIF is a specific angiogenesis inhibitory factor, and it inhibits the DNA synthesis and the skeleton of endothelial cells, so inhibits their growth and migration, then inhibits angiogenesis, "Tumor growth is angiogenesis dependent", CAIF inhibit. tumor growth significantly.
