十八罗汉的来历和镇江金、焦二山的罗汉像

目前我国各寺庙中通行的十八罗汉是由印度传入的十六罗汉演变而来的。由于年代久远、各记载版本不同，许多寺庙的罗汉像存在着张冠李戴的现象。镇江金、焦二山的寺庙中就存在这种情况。考据典籍，给罗汉造像一个准确的名称，是正确弘扬佛教文化的必要保证。

Origin of the eighteen Buddist Arhats and the Arhats' statutes in Jinshan and Jiaoshan Temple

The eighteen Arhats in most of the temples in China were introduced and derived from sixteen Arhats in India. Because there are different versions in account of the origins of Arhats and it was in the remote past , the Arhats＇ statutes are confused with each other in many temples , such as in Jinshan and Jiaoshan Temple. In order to lead the Buddhist culture in Zhenjiang along the right track, the author thinks it is necessary to name each of the Arhats in the exact way according to history. This thesis is a report of an investigation and study of it.
