| Abstract: | Intonation works as an effective means in conveying messages in oral interaction,so it constitutes one of the paralanguage elements of prior consideration both in the understanding and delivery of messages in interpretation.An overall manipulation of the functions of intonation by the interpreter will thus help to achieve the accurate two-way interpreting,turn-taking and register in interpretation discourse. |
