| Abstract: | In this paper, the merits and drawbacks of statistical pattern recongnition and syntactic pattern recognition are briefly compared. Then the representation problem of pattern recognition is introduced. The state of the art of the geometrical feature- based pattern recognition isalso reviewed. Finally, new exploringproblems of this geometricalfeature-based method are presented. |
