| Abstract: | This paper presents a design method of SNMPv2-based midlevel manager,which is based on a thorough analysis of SNMP protocol and RMON network management technology.Such a design method is supposed to have following advantages:(1)Its management information base is designed in conformity with the SNMPv2-SMI standard,and will remedy the defects of M2M MIB(Management Information Base of SNMPv2 midlevel manager);(2)Its polling way and alarming mechanism is superior to the existiong products of the same type(as in document1]);(3)It uses SNMPv2 security protocol2] suggested by IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force) for communication protocol,which has better security and interoperability,and can be easily integrated with any network management system of supporting SNMPv2 protocol. |
