| Abstract: | In this paper, the equivalent theorem, the dyadic Green's function and the method of moments are employed to analyse the coupling characteristics of two rectangular guides with multirectangular slots of arbitrary dimension located in the common broad-wall. The procedure for analysing and designing waveguide directional couplers are also given. Some factors, such as the effect of finite wall thickness and the higher-order mode coupling within the slots, are considered in the approach. The directional couplers for Kaband and W-band were designed and tested. The experimental results agree well with the theoretical predictions. |
