The Central Significanec of Imagination on Frye Thought and Frye

There is a tendency in Frye study to reduce his thoughts to a group of archetypes, i.e. these archetypes are studied without referring to the context of Frye＇ s own logical universe which is based on the imaginary vision of mankind. The following article will show how imaginative power comes to be the core of Frye＇ s thought and, based on this, clarify those hot issues concerning Frye, hoping this will give some enlightenment to our grasp of Frye and some methodological hint to our research on literature and poetics.
