| Abstract: | Metaphor is not only a kind of rhetorical means but also a mode of human thinking. Though there are different ways of classifying metaphor, in essence, it is a cognitive phenomenon. Its cognitive function lies in the fact that it can create new meanings of a word, and it can also help people understand things from a new angle of view. |
