SYNTHESIS OF VITAMIN-K DERIVATIVES

A new methed of synthesis of Vitamin-K derivatives was reported. 1,4-Naphthoquinone was prepared by a modified oxidation of amino-naphthalene. 2-Alkyl-1,4-naphthoquinones were synthesized through a radical alkylation mechanism. 2-Methyl-3-alkyl-1,4-r(?)phthoquinones were synthesized by the double alkylation of 1,4-naphthoquinone either methylation first or alkylation first. The structures of 16 new compounds were identified by IR, ~1H NMR, UV and MS.
