一次心灵上的和谐之旅——从《耻》和《慢人》析库切的和谐社会主题

本文运用后殖民理论对当代南非著名作家库切在1999年发表的并同时获得布克奖的小说《耻》和2005年才出版的并在当年就获得布克奖提名的小说《慢人》进行研究,指出在《耻》中体现了作者对于在后殖民国家构建一个和谐社会的初步理想,而在《慢人》中则进一步体现了作者在后殖民国家中构建一个和谐社会理想的最终实现。因而从《耻》到《慢人》的创作过程实际上体现了作者在自我心灵上的一次和谐之旅。

A Harmonious Journey in Psychology: an analysis on the Theme of Harmonious Society in Coetzee's Novels Disgrace and The Slow Man

In this paper,the author analyzes the two novels by the current famous writer Coetzee of South Africa,Disgrace which was published in 1999 and meanwhile won him Booker Prize,and The Slow Man which was published in 2005 and acquired the nomination for Booker Prize at the same year,pointing out that Disgrace embodies Coetzee＇s forming idea of constructing a harmonious society in a post colonial country,while in writing the novel The Slow Man,Coetzee further shows his idea of constructing a harmonious society,and this idea has been realized at the end of the novel with its final happy ending. So from the novel Disgrace to The Slow Man,we can see a psychological journey of the author to seek for an ideal,harmonious society.
