| Abstract: | This paper analyzes the common faults arising from extra high voltage transmission lines in Shanxi Province and attempts to identify the causes according to the performance of the lines in this area over the past years. The faults involve lightning trip-out faults, monsoon flashover faults, external force faults and pollution flashover faults. Some effective methods are proposed. |
