| 摘 要： | 专门用途英语（ESP）学习及应用中,词汇的掌握是基础,也是要点和难点,起着举足轻重的作用。地质学专业英语是ESP中的一个重要分支,专业词汇量大、半专业词汇丰富、广泛使用派生词、复合词、缩略词并涉及众多相关学科。从词汇特点入手,对地质专业英语词汇进行构词法归类,进而找出行之有效的记忆方法,有利于广大地质学习者和工作者便捷的使用地质英语。

| Abstract: | As a basic,important and difficult point,vocabulary mastery is of great significance in the process of learning and using ESP.Geological English,a branch of ESP,is characterized by large technical and semi-technical vocabulary,abundant use of derivatives,compounds and abbreviations and close relationship with other relevant subjects.Starting with the lexical features,this paper analyses the major word formation processes of geological English vocabulary and suggests some effective ways to memorize it so as to offer help for geological learners and workers. |
