在诗人笔下,唐代岭南商业虽带有明显的异域色彩,在本地乃至全国有着不可取代的经济地位,但这种商业已纳入全国商业整体规范之中。一方面,多元文化决定了唐代岭南商业生态群落的多样化,作为海洋文明主要形式的海外贸易空前发达,而区域内的商业文化则仍保存着严重的落后因素；另一方面,受到中原文化的强势挤压,岭南传统的商业文化的主流地位逐渐丧失,商业文化蜕变为岭南新文化中耀眼却脆弱的亚文化。

But it had already under the regulations of the whole country commercial. On one hand, the diversified culture has decided the diversified Lingnan commercial in Tang dynasty, it is to say, the overseas trade was more developed, the commercial culture in locality still kept some severely backward factors; on the other hand, the Lingnan commercial culture, strongly squeezed by the Chinese tradition and actual culture, lost the dominated position in locality culture step by step, and passed into a shiny but weak inferior culture.
