| Abstract: | Using orthogonal design, effects of astragalus complanatus on the life-span of different Drosophila melanogaster stranis fed with different extracts from the plant seeds, in varying doses and at the different development stages of the flies, were tested. The results show that the doses and development stages have great effect on the life-span. The average life-span has increased by 14.2% (7.34 days) over the control group, indicating that Astragalus complanatu has a significant antiaging effect. The study provides scientific basis for exploiting and using the medicinal herb in antisenility and discusses the possible mechanism of antisenility. |
