| Abstract: | In this paper, the gemological characteristics before and after bleaching and the quality control factors of Hepu cultured sea pearl were studied. Hepu pearl consists of pearl nucleus, organism layer, aragonite layer and outside layers etc., rather than simply bilayer structures formerly believed. And the yellow color of Hepu pearl is mainly caused by the oxidation of trace elements and organic materials. |
