| Abstract: | This paper attempts to reveal tense deficiency in relative small clause of present participle and its syntactic idiosyncrasies such as dependence of time interpretation,ambiguity of temporal orientation,lack of certain functional categories,and inappropriate stress of temporal prepositional phrases.A syntactic tree and a logical formula are also provided for this peculiar type of infinitival verbal form in English. |
