Abstract:Low molecular weight heat shock protein has been found in oxthodox seeds, and it has been proposed that this protein was related to desiccation of oxthodox seeds. In this study four kinds of seeds, including oxthodox seeds and recalcitrant seeds, were chosen as materials. The LMW HSPs was detected by western blotting in all of the four seeds in spite of their different biological characteristics The results demonstrated that LMW HSPs expression in seeds was tissue specific only, not water stress induced.
