Abstract:Clostridium perfringens HS-10 was immobilized to study the biotransformation ofchenodeoxycholic acid(CDCA) to ursodeoxycholic acid in order to increase the substrateconcentration ,the anaerobe tolarence to substrate and the bioconversion rate, the iniinobilzedcells were made with ditferent adsorbing and embedding materials. It was found tbat calciumalginate, porous eramic and vermiculite were perfect immobilizing materials if the anaerobe HS -10 was "pre-cultured"in RCM medium containing 1.2mmol/L CDCA, the tolerence tosubstrate could be remarkably mised when the bacterial cells were embedded with 2% calciumalginate.The greatest conversion rates were 40% and 20% with substrate concentiations up to1.0mmol/L and 2.0 mmol/L.
