| Abstract: | Using Co(PPh3)mXn as catalyst,the carbonylation of organic halide with alcohol and CO(105Pa) in a binary system (aq. NaOH/C6H6) in the presence of tetrabutylammonium bromide as phase transfer catalyst gives the esters in good yields. The reaction mechanism is briefly discussed. |
