粪化石是所有脊椎动物的排泻物。文中建议建立粪石科代替粪化石,把不同类动物的粪石均按生物命名法给以属种的名称。文内提出了5个属名,鱼粪石建立5个种。

Yufenites IN LUFENG YUNNAN, TONGZI GUIZHOU, FUXIAN SHANXI

Yufenites is rarely reported in China, for it is a kind of trace fossil which has probably notbeen recognized by the field geologists. In 1945 Yin, Z. wrote a paper on Yufenites in Geol. Rev.vol, 10, no. 3--4, in which he reported two specimens, one from Tongzi district of Guizhou and theother with unknown locality kept in the Museum of the Geol. Surv. of China. All these two specimenswere described by Yin as coprolite. With the progress of trace fossil study each kind of trace fossils were named as the biological tax-onomy with binary nomenclature. Now the authors propose to use the term coprolite as a family name.Hence, the Coprolitidae includes the genera Yufenites, the excrements of fish, Wafenites, excrementsof amphibia, Longfenites, that of reptilia, Niaofenites, that of aves, and Shoufenites, that of mam-malia. In this paper, six species of Yufenites are described: two species from Yunnan, one species fromGuizhou, two from Shanxi and one of unknown locality.
