| Abstract: | The systhesis of racemic sex pheromone of Japanese beetle ( dl 5 (1 n decene) 2(3H) dihydro furanone)was studied. Propiolic alcohol was used as starting material. The key step of the synthesis of compound involved in oxidition of sec alcohol to lactone followed by selective catalysis. |
