Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter has found an unexpected echo and has drawn world-wide attention since its publication.Different reader has different understanding of it.And it is these various understandings that make The Scarlet Letter mysterious and create multiple approaches to the understanding of it.Based on some feminist critical theories,this paper focuses on the exploration of a better understanding of The Scarlet Letter from the perspective of feminism,and the paper discusses this issue only on the basis of analyzing the heroin-a rebellious woman Hester and her feminist consciousness.
