| Abstract: | Reference is very common in the discourse of the English language. One cause of ambiguity in writing is the use of pronouns without clear referents. The absence of clear referents in discourse may result in reader's incomprehension or misunderstanding. This article is to make a comprehensive analysis of the incorrect use of reference in the discourse of the English language. |
